For the first time, Ernst & Young’s Global Venture Capital Advisory Group had opened its landmark Global Hotbed Cross-Border Showcase in California to Indian companies. It will bring 40 technology companies from the innovation hotbeds of India, China and Israel, to meet Silicon Valley investors in a day-long program that will feature company presentations, panel discussions and networking sessions. "Recognizing the immense potential of India’s technology sector, Silicon Valley investors are increasingly interested in Indian technology and ITES/BPO companies as investment opportunities," said Rajiv Memani, CEO & Country Managing Partner, Ernst & Young, India. “Our goal in the Cross-Border Showcase is to help the most promising Indian start-ups to make connections with top US Venture Capital Funds and corporate investors. The forum will provide dedicated time to Indian firms to present their growth and investment plans to these investors."

smartData was selected among the 15 invited IT companies from the Participating 80 Indian companies which participated in the initial screening done by a A blue-ribbon advisory board of Silicon Valley investors evaluated all the nominations and selected the program participants.
